As a programming language, BASIC was...well, accurately named. The incredible raw power of the first personal computers caused many of our parents to purchase a Vic-20 or Commodore 64 in the hopes of preparing us early for the information economy, and may even have ambitiously sent you to computer camp to learn programming.
