Stubborn Inflation Raises Fear for British Recovery: "Unlike in the United States and in countries that share the euro, inflation in Britain never came close to zero in 2009. And while core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, has declined in countries like France, Germany, Italy and the United States since the beginning of 2008, it has risen in Britain and is now above 3 percent, more than twice the rate in the euro zone."
